“PDC Responds to Players’ Observations in Saudi Darts Masters”

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has issued a statement in response to claims made by Nathan Aspinall regarding the audience composition at the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters. As the tournament kicked off, notable players like Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries, alongside Aspinall, participated in the event.

After securing a victory in his opening match against Lourence Ilagan, Aspinall shared his observations on the event’s ambiance, suggesting that not all attendees seemed fully engaged. He acknowledged the unique setting of the competition and expressed optimism about its potential growth, emphasizing the importance of a positive experience for both spectators and the local press.

In a reply to Aspinall’s remarks, the PDC clarified that all individuals present were enthusiastic spectators, elaborating that many were witnessing live darts for the first time in the region. They acknowledged the distinct atmosphere compared to established darts events in the UK and Europe, attributing it to the novelty of the occasion in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, reigning world champion Luke Littler also commented on the tournament’s atmosphere after defeating Paul Lim, noting the subdued environment in contrast to louder venues he is accustomed to. Despite the differences, Littler remained focused on his performance and highlighted the upcoming challenges in the competition.

As the event unfolds, players continue to adapt to the unique setting of the Saudi Arabia Masters, showcasing their skills in a new and evolving darts landscape.
