David Schumacher, the nephew of legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, has recently gotten engaged to Vivien Keszthelyi. The couple, who met through a mutual friend and have been in a relationship for several years, shared the exciting news on social media during the past weekend.
David, known for his participation in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with the HRT Ford Performance team, popped the question to Vivien while they were on a romantic getaway in the Maldives.
Sharing picturesque moments on Instagram, the 24-year-old wrote, “She said yes. The ocean witnessed our love, and the sunset sealed our promise. 05.11.2025.” Vivien expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from well-wishers.
Among the first to show support was David’s father, Ralf Schumacher, a successful six-time Formula 1 race winner. The heartwarming post received over 20,000 likes. Notably, Michael Schumacher, David’s uncle, suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident in 2013 and now requires constant medical care at home.
Following an extended period in a medically induced coma, Michael returned home and has been under continuous medical supervision. Dr. Jussi Posti, a neurosurgeon closely monitoring Schumacher’s condition, indicated that Michael’s current state has likely remained stable for the past decade.
In a Netflix documentary released in 2021, Michael’s wife, Corinna, offered insights into his life post-accident. She emphasized that the incident was a stroke of bad luck and expressed the ongoing sentiments of missing Michael felt by the entire family.
Mick Schumacher, Michael’s son, reflected on the accident and its impact on their relationship in the documentary. He expressed a deep sense of loss for the shared experiences they used to have and the unique bond they shared through their mutual passion for motorsport.
The family continues to cherish memories of Michael and remain hopeful for his well-being.
