A 16-year-old teenager was swiftly transported to a medical facility following a stabbing incident in a bustling city center. Nottinghamshire Police responded to the scene at 5.51 pm on Wednesday, January 14, where the young victim was discovered with two stab wounds on George Street near Hockley.
After receiving initial treatment at the scene, the teenager was then taken to the hospital for further medical attention. Fortunately, his injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. The family of the injured boy has been notified about the situation.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the assault and are urging any witnesses to provide information to aid in the case. As of now, no arrests have been made. Nottinghamshire Police stated, “Emergency services were called to George Street at 5.51 pm after a 16-year-old boy sustained two stab wounds.”
The recent stabbing incident follows a successful year for Nottinghamshire Police in combating knife-related crimes. The knife crime team seized 224 weapons and conducted 150 arrests in 2025, thanks to targeted patrols across the city. This proactive approach led to the detection of multiple concealed blades that could have otherwise gone unnoticed. Data from the Office for National Statistics indicated a one percent decrease in knife-related offenses in Nottinghamshire between October 2024 and September 2025.
