A family is distressed after an Amazon delivery driver allegedly took their cat from their doorstep. The driver, in a yellow hi-vis outfit, was captured on doorbell footage picking up the cat named Nora from the family’s home near Halifax. The incident occurred around 2:30 pm on January 18, leaving the family heartbroken.
According to the cat owner, Carl Crowther, the delivery driver showed interest in Nora while making a delivery and then proceeded to carry her away. Mr. Crowther stated that the driver left the scene with Nora and placed her in his vehicle. The family expressed concern as Nora typically stays close to home.
The incident was reported to Amazon and West Yorkshire Police, with Mr. Crowther sharing the doorbell footage and additional images in hopes of finding Nora. Although Amazon allegedly offered compensation, Mr. Crowther declined, stating it was not appropriate at that time. However, Amazon clarified that they had referred the family to insurance procedures.
Amazon is conducting an investigation and has been in communication with Mr. Crowther and the authorities. It was noted that the delivery driver is not directly employed by Amazon but by a subsidiary. West Yorkshire Police has been approached for comments on the matter.
