According to Militarnyi, Ukrainian drones attacked the 4th State Central Inter-Service Test Range Kapustin Yar in the Astrakhan Region, breaking through Russian air defenses to hit an assembly and testing building located approximately 500 miles away, near the Kazakhstan border.
This attack occurred as intelligence sources suggested that Putin might launch a devastating assault on Volodymyr Zelensky’s state within the next few days, potentially involving the deployment of the nuclear-capable Oreshnik “super-weapon” capable of speeds up to 8,000mph. One speculated objective of a potential Russian blitzkrieg on Ukraine could be a destructive campaign targeting the country’s nuclear power plant substations in an attempt to coerce surrender by disrupting electricity transmission.
Military intelligence sources have warned of Moscow’s plans to escalate intimidation tactics against European countries and the West to hinder support for Ukraine, particularly in defending against Russian air strikes on vital energy infrastructure facilities. The destruction or disabling of these substations by Russian forces aims to isolate Ukrainian nuclear power plants from the national energy grid, leading to power and heat shortages in the region.
