During his meeting with Trump, Zelensky expressed gratitude for the positive interaction and hoped for progress towards peace. The Ukrainian president also raised concerns about Putin’s actions in Ukraine, calling for accountability and questioning Europe’s role in supporting Russia financially.
Zelensky criticized the Western reluctance to provide Ukraine with advanced weaponry, highlighting the impact of Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has left many in Kyiv without essential services, exacerbated by harsh winter conditions.
While discussions at the forum touched on various topics including Trump’s Greenland ambitions, Mark Rutte of NATO emphasized the significance of the situation in Ukraine, cautioning against losing focus on critical issues amidst other distractions.
