Punters at the newly opened Wetherspoons pub in Spain may find themselves paying higher prices compared to their local branches. Although many food and beverage options remain reasonably priced, they generally exceed the costs at the chain’s regular street locations.
According to company executives, the increased prices are due to the higher operational expenses associated with airport pubs. They highlight that the pricing at the Spanish pub aligns with their establishments in airports and railway stations across the UK.
For instance, a substantial breakfast in Spain costs 10.25 euros (£8.84), while the average price in the UK is £5.09.
To assess the pricing comparison, the Mirror conducted a study comparing prices at the Alicante pub with those at Wetherspoons’ Solihull pub in the West Midlands and Gatwick Airport. It’s worth noting that some products may differ in size and ingredients, adding complexity to the comparison.
