A 27-year-old swimsuit model, Aoi Fujino, has passed away shortly after announcing her retirement to her fans. The Japanese model, known for her appearance on the list of 100 celebrities with the largest busts worldwide, shared her decision to leave the industry on December 31 last year.
Just five days after her retirement message, Aoi’s mother informed the public that the young star had succumbed to an illness. In a statement posted on Aoi’s Instagram page on January 5, her mother expressed gratitude for those who cared for her daughter throughout her life.
Hailing from Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, Aoi had been diagnosed with a rare malignant tumor known as Rhabdomyosarcoma three years before her passing. This form of soft tissue sarcoma, as explained by the NHS, is commonly found in children but can also affect adults, typically manifesting as lumps in various body areas.
Primarily recognized for her risqué swimsuit and lingerie photos and videos, Aoi had paused her career to focus on receiving medical treatment following her diagnosis. Despite briefly returning to work in August 2024, she took another hiatus six months later but continued to engage in activities like meet and greets.
Upon the announcement of her demise by her mother, Aoi’s fans flooded social media with messages of condolence. Some fans expressed their admiration for Aoi’s strength and spirit throughout her battle with illness, sending heartfelt messages of farewell and love.
