New images have captured global support for Iranian demonstrators as they rally against the oppressive regime of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Supreme Leader has violently suppressed dissent in Iran, with reports suggesting that around 2,500 individuals may have lost their lives during protests over economic hardships. The protests in Iran have garnered solidarity from international allies who are calling for an end to the government’s brutal actions.
Photographs depict individuals in the UK, Korea, Israel, Germany, Turkey, and other countries joining in solidarity to advocate for freedom from Iran’s authoritarian rule. Some pictures show protesters burning images of the Ayatollah and donning the colors of Iran’s pre-revolutionary “Lion and Sun” flag. This historical flag, symbolizing Persian monarchy, has been raised alongside images of Reza Pahlavi, the exiled crown prince and son of the late Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
In various locations like Romania, Germany, Paris, and Switzerland, demonstrators have displayed support for Reza Pahlavi through banners and symbolic actions. Shiite Muslims in Pakistan have also voiced their opposition to the Iranian government, while residents in Chile protested outside Iran’s embassy in Santiago. Notably, protesters in Washington laid out a large Persian flag near the White House, and similar demonstrations have taken place in Seoul outside the Iranian Embassy and in London near the Houses of Parliament.
