Mia McKenna-Bruce, the lead actress in the new mystery series “Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials” on Netflix, shared the unique approach that helped her secure a significant role.
At The Savoy hotel in London, the 28-year-old actress announced the nominees for the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award, having previously won the award in 2024 for her role in “How To Have Sex.”
British nominees Posy Sterling, Archie Madekwe, and Robert Aramayo attended the ceremony, while American nominees Chase Infiniti and Miles Caton were absent.
In a Q&A session with Reach Screen Time and other media, Mia disclosed her unconventional audition technique for the role of Tara in “How To Have Sex” in 2023.
Her performance in the drama earned her critical acclaim, leading to a British Independent Film Award and the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
When asked about her most memorable audition experience by co-host Ali Plumb, Mia mentioned her audition for “How To Have Sex.”
Reflecting on Posy’s role in “Lollipop,” Mia described the challenges of improvisation and acting drunk, revealing her spinning technique to simulate drunkenness during auditions.
“How To Have Sex,” with a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, narrates a story of female adolescence and coming-of-age experiences.
Now, Mia stars as Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent in “Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials,” alongside renowned actors Helena Bonham Carter, Martin Freeman, and Nabhaan Rizwan.
The new series on Netflix is set in 1925 England, revolving around a murder mystery at a grand country house party, with Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent as the curious sleuth uncovering a chilling plot.
