This holiday season, I’ve opted to start decorating for Christmas earlier than usual. In the past, individuals who choose to do so and share it on social media often face criticism and negative comments. However, in the realm of social media, it’s impossible to please everyone, so prioritizing one’s own joy is key.
The reason behind my early decorating decision this year stems from the proximity of my birthday and my partner’s to Christmas. Typically, we are away from home during the Christmas buildup, so we have limited time to appreciate our decorations when put up in early December. Given their beauty, it seems only fitting to maximize our enjoyment of them.
Amidst the current wave of negative news globally, I firmly believe that embracing early Christmas decorations can spark immense happiness. There is no harm in doing so, and if it brings joy, why not indulge in it?
Setting up decorations is a delightful and engaging activity. It provides an opportunity to unwind, sip on mulled wine or hot chocolate, groove to Christmas tunes, and relish the festive spirit. Embracing the holiday season is a simple way to uplift spirits, especially considering the prevalent Christmas-themed advertisements and markets.
Unpacking cherished decorations, such as ornaments collected over the years, holds sentimental value for many families. Each decoration tells a unique story, evoking warm memories and adding a personal touch to the festive ambiance.
In our case, we adorned our home with baubles from past vacations, handmade gifts from friends, and iconic Jellycat ornaments. Additionally, we acquired a fresh wreath from a local market, positioning ourselves as trendsetters on our street.
For those feeling a bit like Scrooge, I encourage you to dive into the holiday spirit. Crank up the festive music, let the enchantment of Christmas envelop you, and revel in the joy it brings. It’s a heartwarming experience that promises to uplift your mood.
