Freeview has announced significant changes to its TV guide, including channel position adjustments and a rebranding. The notable update involves the closure of Talk channel (Ch 280), a British news channel focusing on debate, opinion-led journalism, and politics with well-known presenters like Jeremy Kyle, Mark Dolan, and Kevin O’Sullivan. To continue watching Talk, viewers must now access the service through the official Talk app or other platforms such as Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.
In addition to the channel closure, Freeview’s latest update reveals that Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 will be renamed Wedotv. Moreover, three services are relocating on the planner: Ketchup TV will move from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too will shift from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics, previously on Ch 214, can now be found on Ch 210.
Freeview confirmed that on 25th June 2026, some broadcasters will make changes to their channels. The platform emphasized that channels are continuously evolving on Freeview, with individual channels deciding to relocate, add, or remove channels to provide diverse content for audiences.
To ensure access to all correct channels, viewers are advised to navigate to their TV settings and perform a retune as channels and the TV Guide need regular updates. The process involves pressing the menu on the remote control, selecting ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, or ‘update’, choosing ‘first-time installation’ or similar options, and following prompts to complete the retune process. By saving the channels found during retuning, viewers can keep their TV up to date with the latest programming.
