“Russian Missile Attack Kills 10 in Ukrainian Village”

A village in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region was struck by a Russian missile attack on Tuesday, resulting in the death of 10 individuals, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denounced the attack on the busy area of Pechenihy, describing it as a ruthless assault on a location surrounded by residential buildings, a post office, and stores. Images shared by Zelenskyy depicted a demolished building, burning cars, and emergency responders aiding injured individuals.

The governor of the region, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that 17 people were wounded in the attack, which caused damage to 10 private buildings, a café, a post office, a store, and multiple vehicles. Preliminary information from Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office suggested that Russia utilized two small Banderol cruise missiles in the attack.

Simultaneously, Ukraine launched a significant drone offensive targeting Moscow and its vicinity, deploying 620 drones in one of Kyiv’s most extensive air assaults on the region. Russian forces intercepted 180 drones over Moscow, with Mayor Sergei Sobyanin acknowledging the downing of the drones without specifying casualties or damages. The drones struck various facilities, including a warehouse of the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries, leading to injuries, including a 10-year-old girl.

Amidst the escalating tensions, Russia cautioned Britain about consequences for allegedly supplying drones to Ukraine for attacking Russian targets. The Russian embassy in London issued a statement warning of repercussions for London’s involvement in supporting Ukraine against Russia. The British Defence Ministry affirmed its commitment to assisting Ukraine in defending against the ongoing conflict, mentioning a previous pledge to supply 150,000 drones by the end of 2026 as part of a substantial funding package.
