Pop star and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors accusing her of fraud for allegedly failing to meet obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup.
The investors put in close to $1.2 million US ($1.67 million) in Wondermind Global, which was established in 2021 with a mission to enhance users’ “mental fitness,” as stated in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware.
The investors claim they were promised that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would take an active role in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. They argue that Gomez and other company executives did not uphold their commitments, such as the development of a mobile app.
The lawsuit alleges, “Gomez purportedly agreed to fulfill contractual obligations and then neglected them.” The plaintiffs further contend that the company failed to fulfill even the most basic responsibilities, like paying employees and vendors on time.

A spokesperson for Gomez did not provide an immediate response to a request for comment.
The lawsuit reveals that the investors were unaware of the company’s difficulties until they were exposed in an online news report in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking reimbursement for their investments along with legal fees.
