After multiple violations of the MPs’ code of conduct related to his reported extra income, Nigel Farage’s total earnings from various sources have been disclosed. Farage failed to promptly report his income from secondary employment as required by parliamentary standards. These earnings, amounting to £384,000, were reported late according to the set guidelines.
In addition to his annual MP salary of £93,904, Farage has amassed a total of £1.6 million from his 15 additional jobs since assuming office in July 2024. Notably, his primary source of income comes from his role as a presenter for GP News, yielding an estimated £664,000. He has also earned £415,000 as an ambassador for Direct Bullion and £180,000 from Cameo, a video messaging platform.
The latest Register of Members Financial Interests has also shed light on one of Rishi Sunak’s supplementary roles. Sunak, the former Prime Minister, has earned £373,000 as an advisor for the AI company Anthropic. His involvement in this capacity has led to the donation of 3,547 shares to a charity he established, the Richmond Project, valued at the same amount.
Sunak’s hourly rate for his work at Anthropic is estimated at around £5,300, with him dedicating approximately 70 hours to the role. With the shares scheduled for distribution over the next year, Sunak’s total earnings from secondary occupations post-general election exceed £1.0 million, making him one of the highest-earning MPs in Parliament.
