Fashion retailer Quiz has entered administration, resulting in the loss of 109 jobs. The company is making redundancies at its head office in Glasgow and warehouse in Lanarkshire. The Quiz website is no longer operational, and customers are being informed that any outstanding online orders will be canceled.
Customers who have not received their orders are advised to seek refunds through their bank or credit card providers. If the purchase was made with a credit card exceeding £100, consumers may be eligible for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. For transactions made with a debit card or credit card under £100, Chargeback may be an option within 120 days of purchase.
Quiz is not processing refunds but offers customers the opportunity to exchange unwanted items in-store for products of equal value. The company announced the closure of its online store and stated that customers should visit Quiz stores for exchanges.
While Quiz stores remain open and are holding clearance sales, gift cards are no longer accepted. Quiz has a presence in 40 UK stores and concessions in New Look and Matalan outlets, excluding those in administration. The company also operates seven concessions in the Republic of Ireland, which are part of the administration process. Founded in 1993 by Tarak Ramzan in Glasgow, Scotland, Quiz has faced administration for the second time in a year.
Joint administrators Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs from Interpath are overseeing the process. McAlinden expressed the challenges faced by UK retailers in 2026 and emphasized the intent to continue trading while exploring business options. Jacobs urged interested parties to contact the administrators promptly for potential acquisitions.
Employees affected by redundancies are receiving support during this challenging period. The administrators are focusing on maintaining operations while assessing the future of the business.
