Anton Du Beke has shared insights on the potential new hosts of the popular show Strictly Come Dancing. Following the departure of long-time hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, various notable personalities like Zoe Ball and Hannah Waddingham have been rumored as replacements, although no official announcements have been made yet.
Anton mentioned that while he is not privy to specific names, there is speculation that the show’s producers might prefer candidates with existing ties to the program. He referenced a statement by Kate Phillips, the BBC’s Chief Content Officer, suggesting a preference for individuals connected to the show.
Reflecting on the selection process, Anton recounted his own past experience of auditioning for a panel role on the show, which ultimately went to Shirley Ballas. He expressed his belief that the potential hosts of Strictly Come Dancing may not require screen tests given their familiarity with the show.
During a conversation with Chris Evans, various names were proposed for the hosting roles, including Zoe Ball, whom Anton agreed would be a great fit. Additionally, Anton endorsed Hannah Waddingham, Janette Manrara, and Fleur East, all associated with Strictly: It Takes Two.
Zoe Ball, when asked about the hosting opportunity, expressed her interest but also indicated she would support whoever lands the position. Having participated in Strictly Come Dancing previously, Zoe transitioned to hosting Strictly: It Takes Two and hinted at upcoming television projects.
Janette, another former dancer on the show, voiced enthusiasm for the hosting roles, emphasizing the appeal of providing joyful family entertainment through the show. She expressed eagerness for the opportunity while acknowledging the competitive nature of the selection process.
