Popular Strictly Come Dancing personality, Angela Scanlon, has been unveiled as the new host of The Apprentice’s companion show, Unfinished Business, following Tom Allen’s departure from the role.
Angela, known for her stint with Strictly’s Carlos Gu in 2023, is a familiar face on BBC and has been speculated to potentially take over hosting duties on Strictly itself after Claudia Winkleman, 53, and Tess Daly, 56, stepped down from their roles at the conclusion of 2025.
The spin-off show, Unfinished Business, a weekly program running for six years, serves as a follow-up to the main Apprentice series. The official Instagram page of the show made the announcement of Angela’s new leadership role.
Accompanied by a photo of Angela, the show’s post read: “Angela Scanlon is geared up to lead The Apprentice: Unfinished Business! The show will feature industry experts, celebrity enthusiasts, and exclusive interviews with eliminated candidates each week, offering viewers a deep dive into the drama and insider information. The Apprentice: Unfinished Business is set to premiere soon on #iPlayer and #BBCSounds.”
Fans expressed excitement over Angela’s new position, with one enthusiast commenting, “Love this!! Yes pleaseeeee,” and another welcoming her with, “You’re Hired! Welcome onboard.” Angela, in response to a fan, confirmed, “YES!!! BBC Two straight after the main show xx.”
Former host Tom Allen bid farewell to The Apprentice: You’re Fired after six years. In an emotional Instagram post, Tom expressed gratitude to his colleagues and participants.
Tom stated, “I have decided, after six years, to say goodbye to The Apprentice: You’re Fired. I have had so much fun working with the most incredible creative people to make it all happen. I was also getting concerned Lord Sugar might realise I know nothing about business – as above video demonstrates.”
He continued, “Thank you @lord_sugar, @karren_brady_official, @timcampbell_mbe for all their support and encouragement at every step. And also thank you to each @apprenticeuk candidate and guest panelist who joined me in the studio. Exciting things are coming up for the show, and as for me, I shall be embarking on new voyages very soon…”
Angela’s latest role comes after her well-received guest appearance as a presenter on This Morning in December, where viewers advocated for her to have a permanent position. Teaming up with Dermot O’Leary, Angela filled in for Emma Willis on the show, marking her debut as a This Morning host.
