It is now 30% narrower, making it easier to fit behind TVs and more portable for on-the-go use. Notably, the device can draw power directly from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.
According to Amazon, the new Fire TV Stick HD is their most compact streaming device, optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port for a sleeker installation behind the TV. Like previous Fire TV Sticks, it provides instant access to popular streaming services such as Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix. The device comes with a convenient remote featuring Alexa voice search and quick app launch buttons.
While it does not support 4K resolution, the Fire TV Stick HD offers full HD viewing, suitable for most households. Amazon claims that the device delivers significant speed improvements over previous HD models, being more than 30% faster on average. This results in quicker start-up times and faster app loading. Additionally, the device comes with the latest Fire operating system, offering a more streamlined user experience, enhanced recommendations, and improved content discovery.
