“Five Boys in Custody for Alleged Dublin Assault”

Five boys have been taken into custody by Gardai in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a teenage girl. Reports from the Irish Mirror indicate that investigators suspect six boys were involved in the incident in Dublin, with one of them purportedly recording part of the assault on a mobile device. Allegations suggest that the boys provided the victim with alcohol before carrying out the assault. The victim reportedly disclosed the incident to a family member, who then alerted the authorities.

The boys were initially held on suspicion of sexual assault but were subsequently released without charges. Authorities are now preparing a file to be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further action.

A spokesperson from the Garda informed the Irish Mirror that investigations are ongoing regarding the alleged assault on the female. The arrests took place on January 20, 2026, and all five individuals detained were questioned in connection with the alleged offense before being released pending the DPP’s decision.

Although the age group of the suspects and victim was not confirmed by the authorities, the Irish Mirror has verified that all parties involved are minors.
