It has been a tumultuous beginning of the week for the Beckham family as Brooklyn, the eldest son, has accused his parents, Victoria and David, of actively trying to sabotage his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz. Speculations regarding discord within the renowned family have been circulating for a while, notably stemming from the couple’s lavish wedding in 2022.
In a recent Instagram post, the 26-year-old directly addressed the ongoing feud for the first time, shedding light on the situation. Brooklyn shared a detailed statement on his Instagram account, alleging that his mother interfered with their first dance at the wedding, an event meticulously planned in advance to a romantic tune.
From asserting that he felt “pressured” to relinquish his rights to the Beckham surname before the wedding to claiming that Victoria “embarrassed” him during the mother-son dance, Brooklyn did not shy away from recounting how his parents supposedly marred his significant day. Meanwhile, Victoria’s past remarks about the 2022 wedding have resurfaced, portraying a contrasting narrative.
In his explosive post, Brooklyn claimed that his initial dance with his wife was disrupted by his mother’s “inappropriate” conduct. He expressed feeling uncomfortable and humiliated as his mother took the stage instead of his wife, in front of their 500 wedding guests, during what was meant to be a special moment between him and his spouse.
In light of these allegations, Victoria’s previous comments on the wedding have come to light, reflecting a different perspective on the £3 million ceremony. Speaking in 2022, she described the day as “beautiful” and emphasized the joy of witnessing her son’s happiness. She underscored the importance of family closeness and prioritizing motherhood above all else.
Victoria also shared her admiration for her daughter-in-law, describing Nicola as a delightful and warm individual. She expressed immense happiness for Brooklyn finding his life partner and soulmate in Nicola, wishing them a lifetime of joy together.
Brooklyn further disclosed that his mother referred to him as “evil” after arranging the seating at the wedding reception, which allegedly led to tensions with his grandmother and Nicola’s relative. He also revealed family members’ comments questioning Nicola’s status as part of the family and Victoria’s last-minute decision to withdraw from designing Nicola’s wedding dress.
Consequently, Nicola opted for a custom Valentino gown for her special day, explaining her choice not to wear a Victoria Beckham dress due to unforeseen circumstances with the fashion house’s atelier.
In a separate incident, Brooklyn acknowledged the media’s propensity to sensationalize stories, highlighting the challenges of navigating public scrutiny. Meanwhile, Vogue, which covered their wedding, detailed Nicola’s dress selection process, highlighting the extensive consultations with Valentino’s team for the final creation.
