A schoolgirl was left frightened and distressed after discovering the body of a man while participating in a physical education class at Smestow Academy in Wolverhampton. The 11-year-old pupil found the body near the goal posts on the playing fields around 10 a.m. today.
The girl’s father expressed concern, stating that his daughter called her mother in a panicked state, reporting the discovery of a deceased individual on the field during the foggy morning PE session. The incident deeply affected the young girl, prompting her parents to take her out of school early.
Following the discovery, the school provided support to the students, offering counseling services and ensuring that affected pupils could seek assistance from the head of year. The school temporarily closed as advised by the police but is set to reopen the next day.
Authorities are currently investigating the man’s identity and the circumstances surrounding his death. West Midlands Police confirmed the discovery of the body on the school grounds and mentioned that emergency services were alerted around 10:40 a.m., with the man being pronounced dead at the scene.

In response to the incident, the West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances and a paramedic officer to the location on Windmill Crescent, Castlecroft, Wolverhampton, where they sadly confirmed the man’s death at 10:41 a.m.
