Coronation Street’s character Debbie Webster recently revealed a surprising secret about a child. But what about actress Sue Devaney, does she have children of her own?
Sue first appeared on the long-standing ITV show in 1984 as Debbie, Kevin’s sister. After a brief departure, she returned to the cobbles in 2019 and has since garnered a strong fan following.
Debbie’s character faced challenges, including a diagnosis of young-onset vascular dementia and being involved in a multi-vehicle crash. Despite being wrongly accused, Debbie took the blame to protect her brother Carl, who is actually her biological son.
In real life, Sue leads a more peaceful existence with her husband, BBC journalist Jim O’Farrell. The couple tied the knot in 2024 after a three-year engagement in a cozy ceremony in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
Sue shared the news of her marriage on Instagram, showing a photo with Jim outside a hotel. She revealed that she does not have children, expressing acceptance of missing the opportunity due to career commitments.
Acknowledging the challenges of balancing personal and professional life, Sue emphasized her contentment with her partner, sister, and niece, highlighting a fulfilling life beyond acting.
Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm.
