Fallon Sherrock has advised darts players to push through challenges and avoid using illness as an excuse for subpar performances. Despite Michael van Gerwen’s absence from Premier League matches due to illness, Sherrock remains unsympathetic towards his struggles.
Van Gerwen recently withdrew from three Premier League nights and seemed off-form upon his return against Gerwyn Price. Sherrock, speaking on Double Tops, emphasized the need to persevere through difficulties, citing her own experience dealing with physical challenges like menstrual cramps.
Sherrock highlighted the demanding nature of professional darts, stressing the importance of delivering one’s best performance regardless of personal obstacles. She expressed skepticism towards players attributing poor play to sickness or feeling under the weather.
Despite his setbacks, Van Gerwen holds the third position in the Premier League standings. In contrast, Luke Littler, following his world title win at Ally Pally, has struggled in the competition, currently ranking seventh out of eight players before the upcoming match in Cardiff.
Sherrock remains optimistic about Littler’s potential comeback, noting his strategic approach to the competition. She anticipates a strong resurgence from Littler in the subsequent weeks, believing he will surprise critics with his performance and secure a spot at the O2 in London.
