Topshop and Topman are poised to re-enter the retail scene next year through a new collaboration with John Lewis. Beginning in February 2026, Topshop items will be available in 32 John Lewis stores across the UK, while Topman products will launch in six locations. Following a £330 million acquisition by ASOS in 2021, all British fashion retailer’s physical stores were closed, leaving ASOS as the sole distributor of Topshop products.
However, signaling a permanent return to brick-and-mortar retail, Topshop recently hosted a successful pop-up event at Defected Records in east London. Additionally, the brand relaunched its standalone website last month.
The move to partner with John Lewis has generated excitement, with Peter Ruis, John Lewis’s managing director, expressing confidence in the anticipated customer demand. Michelle Wilson, Topshop’s managing director, highlighted the enthusiastic response from customers eager to see the brand back in stores.
In a related development, Ikea acquired the former Topshop flagship store on Oxford Street last month. The Grade II listed building was purchased by Ingka Investment after Arcadia’s administration. Despite initial plans to open the location by autumn 2023, renovation challenges, including basement water leaks, delayed the process.
The three-floor space offers approximately 6,000 products, allowing customers to purchase 3,500 items immediately in-store, while the remaining products can be ordered for home delivery, click and collect, or off-site collection.
