Stephen Graham Wins First Golden Globe for “Adolescence”

British actor Stephen Graham OBE has won his first Golden Globe award after a successful career marked by impactful performances. The Kirkby-born star received the Best Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Motion Picture award for his role in the popular Netflix series “Adolescence,” which he also wrote.

The Netflix show, penned and starred by Graham, is currently receiving acclaim in Hollywood. Graham, known for his role in “Line of Duty,” appeared genuinely surprised when honored at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles. He thanked his fellow nominees and the cast and crew for making “Adolescence” a hit for Netflix.

In a touching moment, Graham expressed gratitude to his family, crediting his wife for saving his life and declaring his love for his children, Grace and Alfie. Despite the prestigious win, Graham humorously mentioned that his children were more excited about his encounter with Snoop Dogg than his award.

Graham shared his awe at meeting the hip-hop icon backstage, where Snoop Dogg praised him, calling him a “gangster.” The actor jokingly stated that his life was now complete. “Adolescence” continued its success at the Golden Globes, with Erin Doherty winning Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role and Owen Cooper becoming the youngest Golden Globe winner. The series also received the award for Best Limited Series.
