Starmer charged his Cabinet with the task of combating the Reform UK’s agenda, highlighting their desire for a diminished state, the promotion of hostility in communities, and appeasement of Putin. During their initial gathering of 2026, Starmer also encouraged his Cabinet members not to waver amidst speculations about his leadership leading up to crucial elections in England, Scotland, and Wales in May.
