A widespread outage impacted Sky TV users last night, causing disruptions to Sky Q services. Many customers faced issues such as error messages and system freezes, preventing them from enjoying their usual TV programs and movies.
Sky has issued an apology for the inconvenience and assured customers that the problems have been resolved. Despite the restoration of services, some users are still reporting ongoing difficulties with Sky Q functionality, as seen on social media.
To address the lingering issues, Sky suggests a simple fix: power cycling the Sky Q box by turning it off at the socket for 30 seconds before powering it back on. This method is expected to resolve any lingering errors and restore normal service for affected users.
It is worth mentioning that the outage did not affect devices that rely on internet streaming services like Sky Glass and Sky Stream, which continued to function without interruptions. Such technical glitches are uncommon for Sky systems, with this incident being one of the few major disruptions experienced by Sky Q users.
