Shirley Ballas from Strictly Come Dancing expressed her willingness to recommend two presenters as replacements for Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, following a suggestion from her mother.
The BBC is currently seeking new hosts for the renowned duo who left Strictly at the conclusion of the latest season. Various names have been proposed to step in for Tess and Claudia, with head judge Shirley indicating her support for a favored presenting duo upon her mother Audrey’s request.
In an interview with the Daily Mail’s Weekend, Shirley shared her mother’s desire for Rylan to be the main presenter and Judge Rinder to be in the Clauditorium area. She mentioned that she would advocate for them as per her mother’s wish. Shirley emphasized her identity as a dancer and hinted at missing fellow judge Anton Du Beke if he were to take on the presenting role he desires.
Regarding the upcoming selection of hosts by BBC producers, Shirley expressed confidence that whoever is chosen will excel in the role. Tess has been a host on the show since its inception in 2004, while Claudia joined as a co-host in 2010 before becoming the full-time host in 2014.
In other news, former Strictly professional dancer Oti Mabuse discussed the potential of returning to the show in a presenting capacity. Although she left the show in 2021 for new opportunities, there have been speculations about her comeback. Oti, a two-time Glitterball winner, refrained from confirming her interest in returning, despite her profound affection for Strictly.
She praised the current hosts, Claudia and Tess, acknowledging their remarkable skills and the behind-the-scenes efforts required for the live show. Oti emphasized her gratitude towards Strictly for her career and expressed confidence in the show’s enduring popularity and success.
