Sam Thompson has shared that he will undergo a surgery that will temporarily affect his ability to speak. The TV personality confirmed his upcoming procedure during a discussion with his close friend Pete Wicks on their podcast, Staying Relevant. This revelation coincided with Pete also disclosing his own health issues.
The 37-year-old former TOWIE star mentioned that he had recently experienced a fall at home and was seeking advice for the incident. He acknowledged missing an earlier appointment related to this issue. During their conversation, Sam mentioned that both he and Pete were scheduled for surgery this year, with Sam specifically undergoing a procedure on his vocal cords to facilitate his music aspirations.
Sam clarified to Pete that he had a cyst on his vocal cords that needed to be removed, requiring him to observe three days of vocal rest post-surgery. According to the NHS, vocal cord nodules are benign growths that form on the vocal cords due to prolonged and forceful vocal cord interaction.
Despite his upcoming medical procedure, it remains uncertain if Sam’s new girlfriend will accompany him during this time. Sam had previously shared his relationship update with Pete on their podcast, expressing his excitement about his new romantic relationship. He and Talitha Balinska went public with their relationship recently, spending the Christmas holidays together and sharing affectionate moments on social media.
While a recent photo of Sam cuddling his cat led to speculation about his relationship status, he later posted a picture on his Instagram stories featuring himself and Talitha, dispelling any rumors of being single. The couple appeared happy and content in the image, with Sam adding a red heart emoji to signify their love.
