A tragic incident resulted in the loss of a pregnant woman and her unborn child after a collision that also left a man severely injured, according to authorities.
The woman, identified as Cathrene Kith Quinones Singco in her 30s, was involved in a fatal two-car crash near Nutts Corner in Crumlin, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on a Sunday afternoon. The collision, involving a blue Ford Fiesta and a silver Skoda Superb on the Moira Road around 2 pm, led to the woman’s unfortunate death as a backseat passenger, with her unborn baby also not surviving the impact.
Police expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends while stating their ongoing investigation into the incident and seeking public assistance for inquiries. Alongside the woman’s fatality, a man in his 30s, another passenger in the same vehicle, sustained critical injuries. Additional individuals suffered minor injuries in the crash, as reported by Belfast Live.
Authorities, including the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Fire and Rescue Service, responded to the scene promptly. The police spokesperson urged any witnesses or those with potential dash-cam footage of the collision to come forward to aid in the investigation by contacting the collision investigation unit.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service detailed their response to the incident, dispatching multiple emergency vehicles and transferring the injured to Antrim Area Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for further treatment.
