Nigel Farage has withdrawn from the BBC’s prominent political show, citing health reasons, as stated by Reform UK.
The leader of Reform UK was scheduled to appear on the Sunday program with Laura Kuenssberg, following recent news of a Conservative MP defecting to his party. However, Richard Tice, the deputy leader of Reform UK, took his place on the show instead.
Laura Kuenssberg mentioned that Nigel Farage was expected to participate in the show but had to cancel due to health issues. As a result, Richard Tice stepped in at short notice.
Meanwhile, Cabinet minister Lisa Nandy neither confirmed nor denied reports suggesting that she had cautioned her colleagues about the possibility of a government led by Mr. Farage being labeled as “fascist.”
During an interview on Sky News, the Culture Secretary refrained from repeating confidential discussions from a Cabinet meeting but expressed concerns about Reform UK and Nigel Farage, emphasizing her personal background and experiences. She highlighted the dangers of scapegoating and demonizing certain groups of people.
When asked about labeling a Farage-led government as “fascist,” Nandy avoided using such terms directly but alluded to her experiences of division and discrimination, suggesting that actions speak louder than labels.
