“McLaren Issues Public Apology for Disqualified Drivers”

McLaren has publicly apologized to their drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, following their disqualification from the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Despite finishing second and fourth in the race, McLaren faced scrutiny from race officials regarding the minimum width of the rearmost skid on their cars.

In a statement released by McLaren team principal Andrea Stella, it was revealed that both cars were found to be in breach of Article 3.5.9 of the Technical Regulations due to slight deviations in the thickness of the rearmost skid. The team attributed the irregularities to unexpected high levels of porpoising during the race, causing excessive contact with the ground.

Acknowledging the unintentional breach and emphasizing the absence of deliberate rule violations, McLaren expressed regret to both drivers for the lost points and to their supporters. Despite the setback, the team remains focused on the remaining races of the season.

The disqualification has reignited the competition in the Drivers’ World Championship, with Norris leading the standings with 390 points. While Piastri trails by 24 points, Max Verstappen has drawn level with him after securing a victory at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The upcoming races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi promise an intense conclusion to the 2025 season.

Both Norris and Piastri expressed disappointment over the disqualification, underscoring the competitive nature of the championship. As the season finale approaches, the race for the title is expected to be closely contested, with Verstappen highlighting the significance of car performance and luck in determining the ultimate outcome.

With anticipation building for the final races, fans can expect thrilling battles and unexpected twists as the championship contenders vie for supremacy on the track.
