A man was tragically discovered dead on the roadside, having been viciously attacked by his own pet dog during a walk. The 33-year-old was found lifeless in a ditch in Lohne, Germany, with his dog remaining by his side even as medical personnel arrived at the scene. The dog, identified as an American Bulldog, was responsible for the fatal injuries, as confirmed by a postmortem examination.
Following the incident, the dog was taken to an animal shelter for evaluation. Emergency responders faced challenges in providing assistance to the man due to the dog’s protective behavior. Vanessa Bokr, a canine expert, suggested that the dog might have turned aggressive after being prevented from pursuing something, leading to the tragic outcome.
American Bulldogs, a breed distinct from the banned XL Bully in the UK, have been associated with several fatal incidents in different parts of the world. In a recent case in the US, a toddler lost his life after entering an American Bulldog enclosure at his grandmother’s residence in New York Mills, Minnesota. The child, Beckett Brown, sustained fatal injuries and sadly passed away despite efforts to save him.
Additionally, a baby in the United Kingdom required urgent medical attention after being bitten on the face by the family’s American Bulldog. The incident, which occurred in Doncaster’s Hyde Park area, left the one-year-old with serious facial wounds. Authorities noted previous signs of aggression from the dog towards the child, who is now in a kennel awaiting further evaluation.
