Luke Littler is set to begin his first defense of the PDC World Darts Championship against Darius Labanauskas at Alexandra Palace next month following the draw conducted on Monday. The 18-year-old secured the 2025 world champion title by defeating Michael van Gerwen at Ally Pally in January. Since then, Littler has claimed victories in the UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts, and Players Championship, among other accolades.
Having recently risen to the top spot in the world rankings, surpassing Luke Humphries, Littler is in impressive form ahead of his upcoming World Championship title defense. He will face Lithuanian No.1 Labanauskas in the opening round of the 128-player tournament.
Elsewhere in the draw, Luke Humphries will take on Ted Evetts, Michael van Gerwen is set to play Mitsohiko Tatsunami, and Beau Greaves will meet Daryl Gurney in some of the other initial matches.
