Google has introduced a new Chromebook in collaboration with Lenovo, aiming to attract users who find MacBook prices unaffordable and are not fans of Windows 11. The Chromebook Plus 14 boasts a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor, enhancing its performance and making it one of the most robust Chrome laptops available.
Equipped with an ARM architecture chip, the Chromebook offers exceptional efficiency, providing up to 17 hours of battery life. Its features include a high-resolution 14-inch OLED display, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, multiple ports, a backlit keyboard, and a fanless design for silent operation even under heavy use. Additionally, it incorporates the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology for faster internet connectivity.
As a Chromebook, it comes loaded with Google-powered smart features such as instant photo editing, quick web searches using Google Lens, image creation tools, and a text simplification function called Help me read. Users also have full access to Google apps like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Google Photos, along with millions of additional Android apps via the Play Store.
The Chromebook is priced starting at £599 for the base model, with the cost increasing for higher RAM and storage configurations. According to Benny Zhang, Executive Director and General Manager of Chromebooks in Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group, the device is designed to meet the productivity needs of a remote and hybrid work environment.
The Lenovo Chromebook Plus (14”, 10) offers powerful AI capabilities, catering to various user needs, whether for work or leisure. It is now available for purchase.
