The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her behavior during her recent match against Dave Chisnall in the World Championship. Sherrock playfully imitated an incident involving a drinks table that her ex-boyfriend Cameron Menzies had damaged earlier in the tournament.
Menzies, who got injured after venting his frustration on the table following his defeat to Charlie Manby, received support from PDC chief executive Matt Porter. Porter emphasized that Menzies could seek assistance from the PDC and the PDPA if needed, as the players’ well-being is of utmost importance.
Both Sherrock and Menzies were eliminated in the first round of the competition. Sherrock struggled with her doubles, missing 20 out of 23 attempts, leading to a 3-0 loss to Chisnall. On the other hand, Menzies, the 26th seed, had a close match against Manby but ultimately lost 3-2. Menzies revealed that personal challenges, including the recent passing of his uncle, affected his performance.
Chisnall, after defeating Sherrock, acknowledged her strong performance and admitted that the match could have had a different outcome if she had capitalized on her scoring opportunities. Chisnall is set to face Ricardo Pietreczko in the next round.
In upcoming matches, fans can look forward to seeing rising star Beau Greaves competing against Daryl Gurney. The winner will advance to face Callan Rydz in the following round. Additionally, the World Darts Championship promises thrilling action, with various top contenders and exciting features highlighted in a special edition preview.
