Darts player Dom Taylor has publicly apologized for misleading statements regarding his drug use and shared personal struggles, including the loss of his daughter. The 27-year-old posted a detailed apology on Facebook after being removed from the PDC World Championship.
Following a positive drug test result from December 14, the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) confirmed Taylor’s suspension from the tournament. Despite winning his first-round match against Oskar Lukasiak, Taylor was disqualified, with his prize money withheld and his opponent, Jonny Clayton, advancing to the next round.
In his social media post, Taylor expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging a previous failed drug test before the 2025 Ally Pally tournament. He admitted to deceiving others and himself, apologizing to his family, friends, sponsors, and fans for his behavior.
Detailing past traumas, Taylor cited childhood experiences, including finding his deceased nan at age 12 and other distressing events that impacted him deeply. He recognized his letdowns and emphasized the importance of seeking help for his struggles, particularly after the recent anniversary of his daughter’s passing.
Taylor indicated his intention to seek support post-holiday season and emphasized the significance of reaching out for assistance during challenging times. Expressing remorse and gratitude for support, he vowed to return stronger in the future.
