A brave Palestinian activist recently communicated with the Mirror from within the Gaza Strip, sharing his efforts to oppose the presence of Hamas. Moumen Al-Natour, aged 30, highlighted a growing sentiment among ordinary Palestinians for peace, expressing the challenges he faces to ensure his safety amidst the ongoing conflict and the threat of Hamas-led attacks.
During video calls with the Mirror, Al-Natour boldly criticized Hamas, emphasizing a widespread desire among Palestinians in Gaza to remove the group from power. He lamented the high casualties among innocent civilians since 2023 and raised concerns about the inadequate distribution of aid orchestrated by Israel through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
Al-Natour underscored the need to continue the resistance against Hamas, accusing the group of using hostages as bargaining tools and causing immense suffering to the community. Despite the perilous situation, he remains dedicated to leading protests against Hamas, advocating for a better future for his family and fellow Palestinians.
Reflecting on the challenges faced in Gaza, Al-Natour shed light on the scarcity of basic necessities, attributing the situation to the exploitation of aid supplies by Hamas. He envisioned a future with a just and transparent government in Gaza, fostering peaceful relations with Israel based on mutual respect and understanding.
Expressing his belief in peaceful coexistence with Israel, Al-Natour emphasized the importance of moving past animosity and embracing a future of reconciliation and cooperation between the two peoples.
