A cherished pub in Buckinghamshire is preparing to close its doors for the final time this weekend, urging loyal customers to make a final visit before its permanent closure.
The White Horse, located on London End in Beaconsfield, has declared that today will be its last day of operation. In a message to its patrons, the staff acknowledged that news of the closure had already begun circulating in the community, confirming that Sunday evening would mark the end of service. They expressed gratitude to all those who have supported the establishment over the years. Regular customers have been invited to stop by before the closure to enjoy “one last pint or two” before the pub ceases operations.
Heartbroken patrons took to social media to express their sorrow, according to reports from the Express. One individual wrote, “Very sad. You will be greatly missed as a fantastic pub managed by a wonderful group of people. Thank you for all the good times.” Another commented, “Noooooo! One of the few local pubs with ample space, good food, and delightful staff. It will be missed.”
The White Horse is under the ownership of the Brunning and Price pub group, which operates around 81 pubs across the country, including The Rowbarge in Woolhampton and The Horse & Groom in Twyford.
While no official reason has been disclosed for the closure, the pub has advised its patrons to visit nearby sister venues, assuring Beaconsfield customers that they will still have familiar Brunning and Price options available. The closure signifies the end of an era for the Beaconsfield locale, with Sunday representing the final chance for locals to savor a drink within the White Horse’s walls.
This closure coincides with the British Beer & Pub Association’s call for discussions with government officials regarding the future of pubs, ahead of the unveiling of a new support package next week. The Mirror has been actively campaigning to protect Britain’s pubs through the Your Pub Needs You initiative.
