Apple has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the iPhone 17e, confirming earlier speculations. Following the iPhone 16e, this new model continues Apple’s trend of offering key features at a more budget-friendly price compared to its premium counterparts.
Priced at £599, the iPhone 17e is more affordable than the iPhone 17 by over £200 and £500 cheaper than the 17 Pro. It now boasts a base storage of 256GB, double the capacity of its predecessor.
Enhancements in the iPhone 17e include a performance boost with the A19 chip and the latest C1X cellular modem for faster speeds. The device features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield glass for durability and enhanced anti-reflective technology.
MagSafe, absent in the 16e, is now included for faster wireless charging and attachment of compatible accessories. The device sports a 48MP Fusion camera supporting 4K video recording with advanced sensor capabilities.
Safety features like Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection remain integral. The iPhone 17e offers color options in black, white, and a new soft pink finish.
Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, Kaiann Drance, highlighted the value of the iPhone 17e, combining performance, features, and affordability. The device is designed to provide lasting performance, security, and value for users.
