Apple has introduced a new software update designed to enhance creativity for a wider audience. The tech giant from the United States is set to launch Creative Studio, a platform that will grant MacBook and iPad users access to premium software at a more affordable monthly rate.
This service will provide comprehensive access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music creation, and Pixelmator Pro as an alternative to Adobe’s Photoshop.
Upon its release later this month, Apple customers can subscribe for £12.99 per month or opt for an annual payment of £129, offering a cost-effective solution given the software included in the package.
Individual purchases of Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro from the App Store are priced at £300 and £200 respectively. By transitioning to a subscription model, Apple aims to make these tools more accessible to a broader audience.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, stated, “Apple Creator Studio is a valuable offering that empowers creators of various disciplines to pursue their craft and enhance their skills by providing easy access to powerful tools for video editing, music production, creative design, and visual productivity, enhanced with advanced intelligent features to streamline workflows.”
Furthermore, Creative Studio includes additional features such as MainStage, which transforms a Mac into a versatile instrument, voice processor, or guitar rig, and Motion, a robust graphics tool for creating cinematic 2D and 3D effects, featuring innovative functions like Magnetic Mask for effortless object isolation and tracking without a green screen.
Subscribers will also receive intelligent features and premium content updates for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps, as well as Freeform enhancements for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices scheduled later this year.
While Keynote, Pages, and Numbers will remain free, enhancements tailored for Creative Studio subscribers will be introduced. Apple’s goal is to provide a flexible and accessible platform for professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to explore their creative interests effectively.
Apple Creator Studio will be accessible on the App Store starting on Wednesday, January 28, including a one-month free trial for all users. Additionally, individuals purchasing a MacBook or iPad will qualify for a three-month trial period.
Apple has also confirmed special education pricing for university students, offering the software bundle at only £2.99 per month or £29.99 per year.
