Despite undergoing a thorough assessment during the summer, trainer Nicky Henderson believed Constitution Hill was ready for a comeback at the Fighting Fifth Hurdle in Newcastle. Unfortunately, the horse fell at the second hurdle in a race won by Golden Ace.
Henderson has dismissed the idea of retiring Constitution Hill and is considering transitioning the horse to flat racing. McCoy shared his thoughts on the situation during an episode of William Hill’s latest Inside Track, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and proper care for the horse.
Barry Geraghty, another William Hill ambassador involved in purchasing Constitution Hill, suggested exploring rehabilitation options for the horse’s jumping issues before making any decisions about future competitions. Geraghty highlighted the expertise of Yogi Breisner in unconventional training methods and advised caution in rushing the horse into novice chasing.
