Apple has had a bustling week, introducing a range of new products, including the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro models with the latest M5 processors. The company has now unveiled the MacBook Neo, a more budget-friendly laptop option.
Priced at £599, the MacBook Neo boasts a colorful design, impressive performance, and a high-resolution 13-inch screen, making it the most affordable Mac available at the moment. This price is significantly lower than the latest MacBook Air, also launched this week.
The MacBook Neo is powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor, offering adequate performance for daily digital tasks, although not as swift as M-powered PCs. Running macOS, it provides access to popular applications like Microsoft Word, Pages, and iMovie.
With over 15 hours of battery life, the MacBook Neo is highly efficient and features two USB-C ports. Additional features include a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support, a Magic Keyboard, and a Multi-Touch trackpad.
Available for pre-order now, the MacBook Neo will hit stores next week, offering color options such as Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus. Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the new laptop, emphasizing its affordability and unique features tailored for a broader audience.
