Samsung has unveiled a trio of new Galaxy S26 smartphones, with a standout feature on the S26 Ultra that sets it apart from competitors like the iPhone. The S26 Ultra now boasts a Privacy Display feature, which safeguards on-screen content from prying eyes by making it disappear when not directly viewed.
This innovative Privacy Display can be activated through settings to prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing your texts or viewing your activities. Users have the option to customize settings to block specific apps or notifications for added privacy and security.
Samsung describes the Galaxy S26 Ultra as the first in the mobile industry to incorporate a built-in Privacy Display, revolutionizing how privacy is maintained on a smartphone. By manipulating pixel light dispersion, the display ensures clear and bright content visibility for the user while limiting visibility for others.
In addition to the Privacy Display, the S26 Ultra boasts a sleeker design, extended battery life, and is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform from Qualcomm. Rapid charging capabilities enable the device to reach 75% battery in just 30 minutes.
Enhancements to the camera system include an updated quad rear camera for improved nighttime photography and upgraded Super Steady capabilities for smoother video recording. The device features an S Pen for note-taking on its 6.9-inch AMOLED screen.
Accompanying the Ultra model are the standard S26 with a 6.3-inch screen and the larger 6.7-inch Plus variant, both powered by Samsung’s Exynos chip and equipped with triple-lens cameras.
Samsung’s new smartphones receive an AI upgrade, enhancing the user experience with features like Now Nudge, which offers relevant suggestions to streamline tasks and reduce distractions. The device can automatically suggest photos from the Gallery when prompted by a friend or check for calendar conflicts related to meeting invitations.
Despite the impressive updates, the increased capabilities come at a higher price point this year. The UK pricing for the Samsung Galaxy S26 range is as follows:
– S26: 256GB £879, 512GB £1,049
– S26 Plus: 256GB £1,099, 512GB £1,269
– S26 Ultra: 256GB £1,279, 512GB £1,449, 1TB (with 16GB RAM) £1,699
These new models are set to hit stores next month, offering consumers a range of advanced features and enhanced privacy options.
