Sky TV users are in for some disappointing news as it has been revealed that the recently launched Sky Live product will be discontinued starting next month. Sky Live, introduced in 2023 as an innovative entertainment device for TV usage, will cease operations on December 4.
The Sky Live accessory, designed to connect with Sky’s Glass TV, offers interactive features through motion sensors and a built-in camera. Subscribers paying £6 per month can access interactive games like Fruit Ninja, Stingray Karaoke, and Peppa Pig: Jump and Giggle, as well as utilize the device for fitness sessions to monitor posture and technique. Additionally, users can make Zoom calls and enjoy synchronized content viewing with friends and family.
Despite its promising features, Sky Live did not meet the expected popularity levels. While the product is being discontinued, Sky assures that games like the newly released Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will still be available without an additional subscription.
A spokesperson from Sky mentioned, “Innovation has always been at the core of Sky. Sky Live has provided us with valuable insights that will shape our future products. Gaming was the most well-received feature, leading us to enhance gaming options on Sky Glass and Sky Stream, catering to the entire family, including Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.”
Customers impacted by this decision will receive email notifications this week regarding the changes. Those who purchased Sky Live will receive refunds and have the option for easy product returns with free postage.
