A tragic incident unfolded in Colombia as a plane carrying singer Yeison Jimenez and his band members crashed shortly after take-off, claiming the lives of all six individuals on board. The group was en route to a concert scheduled for the evening when the light aircraft went down in Colombia’s Tundama Province, moments after departing from Paipa Airport.
Witnesses captured the harrowing scene on video, with bystanders heard shouting warnings as the plane ran out of runway and subsequently crashed in a fiery impact at the end of the airstrip.
The casualties included the pilot, co-pilot, and four passengers, among whom was the 34-year-old renowned musician, Yeison Jimenez, known for his performances across various countries. Before boarding the ill-fated flight, Jimenez shared a poignant post on Instagram reflecting on humility and the uncertainties of life.
Another victim identified was Jimenez’s photographer, Weisman Mora, who had shared a poignant video of the group just before take-off. The aircraft was en route to Medellin, where Yeison was scheduled to perform, and the tragic accident occurred around 4 pm local time on the previous day.
Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the devastating news of the fatalities, emphasizing the loss of all occupants, including the popular artist Yeison Jimenez. The singer-songwriter, who had been performing since childhood, had previously expressed premonitions of an air accident in podcast interviews.
Other victims of the crash were named as pilot Hernando Torres, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, Oscar Marin, and Jefferson Osorio. The plane reportedly belonged to Jimenez’s company, YJ Company SAS.
In response to the heartbreaking news, Jimenez’s daughter, Camila, expressed her grief on social media, reminiscing about her father. Fans and supporters also flooded social media platforms with tributes and messages of condolence, honoring the memory of the talented musician and expressing disbelief over the tragic incident.
