TV host Roman Kemp shared that soccer legend David Beckham had a special message for him concerning his bond with Romeo Beckham, David’s son. The encounter took place at a gathering for the offspring of the former Manchester United player.
Roman, aged 32, disclosed his involvement in a seven-player team alongside 23-year-old Romeo, a budding footballer who has played for Brentford F.C. The duo, along with vocalist Tom Grennan and ex-footballer Petr Cech, form part of the team dubbed Netflix n’ Skills.
Romeo, son of David and Victoria Beckham, reportedly faced criticism and taunts due to his famous parents. David, recognizing this, instructed Roman to watch out for Romeo during an event earlier this year.
In a recent interview with the Sun, Roman reminisced about interacting with David, whom he admires, at Romeo’s recent birthday celebration. David approached Roman during the event, emphasizing the importance of looking after Romeo.
Recalling the incident, Roman quoted David’s request, saying, “He came over and said ‘hi,’ and then turned to me and said, ‘Look after him please.'”
Reflecting on the challenges faced by Romeo, Roman highlighted that he, too, has encountered backlash in the past, urging his teammates, including school friends, to support Romeo as per David’s wish.
Roman emphasized the need to shield Romeo from undue attention, asserting that football should serve as an escape for him. Despite the pressures, Roman commended Romeo for handling the situation with maturity and resilience.
Romeo, the second eldest among David and Victoria’s children, has pursued a football career following his father’s footsteps, training with Arsenal and featuring for Brentford in his professional journey.
