Nick Hogan, the son of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, has reportedly taken legal action against radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge Clem for including his late father’s intimate video in Clem’s recent documentary “Video Killed The Radio Star.”
Nick, aged 35, and Terry McCoy, a trusted friend and overseer of Hulk’s estate, filed a temporary restraining order against Clem, 59, at the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial District in Pinellas County, Florida, on September 2, as per court documents obtained by PEOPLE magazine.
In a previous incident in 2012, Hulk settled a disagreement with Clem, who relinquished the rights to the sensitive video to the former WWE celebrity. Hulk then officially registered the video with the U.S. copyright office to prevent any further dissemination, as per the Tampa Bay Times.
The footage features the late WWE star engaged in intimate activities with Heather Cole, Clem’s former spouse, filmed by home security cameras.
In the legal petition acquired by PEOPLE, Nick and McCoy assert that Clem’s use of the video in the documentary violates the Estate’s copyrighted material. They argue that further distribution of the video would cause immediate and irreversible harm to the Estate if not restrained.
The petition explains that notifying Clem about the legal proceedings before issuing the restraining order would likely harm the Estate irreparably. The order was approved on September 4.
