Speaking with Laurence Fink, BlackRock’s CEO and interim co-chair of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Musk shared his belief that aging is a solvable issue.
According to Musk, understanding the root causes of aging could lead to a straightforward solution rather than a complex one. He highlighted the uniform aging process of all cells in the body, emphasizing the presence of a synchronizing clock coordinating the aging across billions of cells.
Despite his optimism about extending life and potentially reversing aging, Musk acknowledged the societal challenges that could arise from significantly longer lifespans. He mentioned the risk of societal stagnation and lack of dynamism if people were to live indefinitely.
In a lighter moment, Musk playfully poked fun at Donald Trump before engaging in more profound discussions. He humorously suggested renaming the US President’s Board of Peace to “piece,” joking about dividing territories like Greenland and Venezuela.
Separately, Trump unveiled his Board of Peace aimed at maintaining a ceasefire in Israel’s conflict with Hamas, promoting it as a potential rival to the United Nations. However, skepticism surrounding the board’s composition and purpose led some close US allies to decline participation.
Notably, Britain hesitated to join the Board of Peace due to concerns about Russian involvement. The UK Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, indicated a willingness to explore supportive roles in the Gaza peace process but refrained from committing to the group.
Having previously supported Trump during his presidential campaign, Musk faced controversies in his government role, leading to a public fallout with the president.
